MIAMI, FL--A group opposing an amendment on
the November ballot that would define marriage in the Florida Constitution as
between one man and one woman is filing a lawsuit in Miami asking the court to
make supporters disclose certain donors.
The
opponents, Florida Red & Blue, have already asked the Florida Elections
Commission to investigate the actions of Amendment 2 sponsor
Florida4Marriage.org, its chairman and a group that donated large amounts to the
campaign.
The lawsuit asks for a court order
compelling the disclosure of donors and an emergency injunction to stop the
spending of what opponents say are illegally obtained funds for pro-amendment
advertising.
Amendment 2 supporters have said they did
nothing wrong or improper in supporting the amendment.
